In My Dreams, Acrylic on canvas with collaged papers, 18 x 24″, ©Diane Yuhas, 2010.

One of the few times in my life where I find myself at a loss for words is when people ask, “What kind of art do you do?”

“Eclectic,” I say, although it’d be better summed up, “Whatever I feel like at the time.” My art is abstract and logical in a thoroughly emotional sense.  I really like In My Dreams (above) because it best represents my own peculiar style.  I’ve always preferred this kind of vague and dreamy art.  I like to leave room for the viewer to not only discover my commentary, but to find their own story in my art as well.

Original artwork by Diane Yuhas (dyuhas62).  Images are ©Diane Yuhas and may not be reproduced in any form.

We all do what we love. what is art? it just is. People still are shocked that I am a girl and draw cars? why? why not, just cuz I am a girl. girls can’t like cars? old cars are cool and such a big part of our lives.

Love your work Diane, still have your crow painting and always get compliments on it.

I’m with you, Mary. We’ve got to make the art that’s in our hearts!
